Unit 4: The Tipping Point

It's not bad form if I introduce this topic with a simple meaning of what Tipping Point is

The point at which a series of small changes or incidents becomes significant enough to cause a larger, more important change.


Tipping Point Dominican Republic Crime

Purse snatchers and briefcase thieves are known to work hotel bars and restaurants waiting for unknowing guests to place these items on chairs or under tables.

High crime areas in the capital include 
Naco, Gazcue, Cristo Rey and Villa Agricola, Pantoja.

The 2016 crime statistics from the national police list the cities where the majority of reported criminal acts occurred by category. Preliminary crime statistics for 2016 reveal that the five highest ranking provinces for homicide in 2016 were: Montecristi and Bahoruco, San Juan and Duarte , and Santo Domingo National District. The top five provinces for reported robberies were: Santo Domingo City, Santo Domingo National District, San Cristóbal, La Altagracia, and La Vega. Statistics show the highest incidents of sexual assault in the provinces of Santo Domingo, San Cristobal, Puerto Plata, La Altagracia, and Montecristi. Ancedoctal reports provided to the U.S. Embassy show a marked increase in the use of date-rape drugs in the commission of sexual assaults. The wide availability of weapons, the use of drugs, and the weak criminal justice system all contribute to the high level of criminality.

The tipping point in social protests in 2017 There have had many social protects in Dominican Republic Through the years, but social movements in Dominican Republic had their most important antecedents in the 1916th by peasants that fight against the North American Intervention. Another important labor movement was in the sugar industry in the 40th against the Trujillo Dictatorship, and many social movements more, that have generated a sign in the history. The social protest that I want to refer as a tipping point in 2017 in Dominican Republic is the one called La Marcha Verde. La Marcha Verde had its roots at the beginning of these year in Santo Dominto due to the Odebrecht case, a company that belongs to Brasil. The governors involved in this case are Hipolito Mejia, Leonel Fernandez and Danilo Medina. The protest was generated by a group of civil organizations that win thousand of people over the country.

UNIT 7, WORKPLACE PRIVACY

Unit 7: WorkPlace Privacy    As you may know in some  jobs you do not have privacy. Employers can usually search an employee's workspace, including their desk office or lockers. It does not sound far at all, but they can do that because they are the owners of everything you are using there. Some employees feel uncomfortable in their job areas because they are being monitoring, but the employer has the right to do it as long as the monitoring is not particulary invasive. Cmeras in bathrooms or in dressing areas are usually not allowed. In conslusion, even if welike it or not employers have the right to monitoring our activities, register the computer we are using, the emal and even the desk because those are their belonges.

        Spiritual Renewal  In this case I would rather to talk about me and my spiritual life, I think that it will also be good for me because I  feel that I have to renew my spiritual life. I am a believer and I have gone far from my religious life lately, due to my job, university and others activities I know I should not pay that much attention to, but I do. I was grown in a religious family, even my parents and grant parents were part of the main team at church.
