Unit 4

One of the things that i liked about this lesson is the use of metaphors related to illness, water or weather, we can use words or phrases in a very different context. For example:

 Make a splash (related to water)
Crime make a splash in the whole country.

Infected (related to illness)
Last winter the streets were infected with adidas shoes.

Swim against the tide (related to water)
It is not easy swim against the tide in this society.

Contagious (related to illness)
Despasito by Luis Fonsi is a contagious song.

Epidemic (related to illness)
The embroidered roses have been an epidemic in 2017.

PUNTA CATALINA (TIPPING POINT)

  I would like to write and bring at the same time some information about this topic that has turned to a tipping point in the Dominican Republic. I’m talking about Punta Catalina. But what is Punta Catalina? According to this page (http://puntacatalina.cdeee.gob.do/descripcion/#), Punta Catalina Thermoelectric Power Plant is composed of two gross power units of 376 MW each, for a total of 752 MW gross, located in the Municipal District of Catalina, Baní, Peravia Province, in the Dominican Republic.
